Grammar and Grampers

So I'm grading some essays today in class, and to a little blonde sophomore, recently transplanted from somewhere in the deep dark South (I think you'll see why this matters in a second), I said, "You have some good ideas, but your grammar is atrocious."

To which she indignantly replied "She ain't neither! We is all Baptists. And you don't even know her, Miss. Why ya got ta talk about people's families?"

I am still torn between laughter and tears.
